Block the colour

Two words: block colours. Whether they are in or out at the time; they will always be a fashion statement. Being the small munchkin person I am, I don't really go out on the street wearing yellow and pink platforms, but hey: I see it on the catwalk and on the street, so I get what is going on. So here are some lovely examples of block colours. Some are catwalk, some are highstreet. Some are affordable, some may be not!

Is it a cake or a cupcake? discuss.

Yesterday I made these cakes for my friend Ronke's birthday. I used this normal cupcake recipe except for the fact that I did not use cupcake baskets, I just buttered the tin.
When they were done. I covered them with dark chocolate and added gorgeous sugar-paper flowers on top. She loved them and so did I. It really didn't take that long.
One frikin' easy bake.

The braid

The Loose braid, by Lauren Conrad
Erdem Spring 2011 Crown Braid: Runway-Inspired Braids: Beauty: teenvogue.com
Many have been inspired by the Erdem 2011 Spring collection
The braid is a signature look this summer whether your going to a party or a picnic. From the braided updo (demonstrated by Jessica Alba) to the to the loose braid (demonstrated by Lauren Conrad). I do admit, it took me quite some time to figure out how to make a braided updo, as my hair is quite thick. But with this simple tutorial from Teen Vogue (inspired by the gorgeous Erdem Spring collection 2011) I soon mastered it. It has to be right, the guy is a professorial! Try it ladies, you WILL get stunning results.

Pretzel Softy

I love pretzels. End of story. Using this recipe, I made the best soft pretzels ever! Make sure to use Bicarbonate of Soda though, because it makes it a soft pretzel instead of just bread!
Happy Baking!

Chocolate Cake/Brownie

Final result

From reading Cupcakes and Cashmere 'Chocolate Lava Cake' I decided to make my own. It was really easy to make and only took about 8-9 minutes. I also used the New York Times Diner's Journal (Here) as it has a reliable and easy to follow recipe.
I used normal chocolate so it made it more brownie-like, but it still tastes delicious :)

Colourful Nails

Heyas guys,
A good outfit always looks better with different shades of nail polish whether they clash or match. I like to use ESSIE because it is good quality, it comes in different shades  and it isn't that expensive. But the main problem is that they don't sell it anywhere :(.
Here are some great colours, that you can wear for any occasion, with any outfir, as there are so many different colours to choose from.
WARNING: These colours are bright :)

Hello: To you and to summer :)

First post, huh?
I have been planning to create a blog for some time now, but well, I haven't come round to doing one, until now. This blog will focus on my life (don't worry not to much info!), style and food (recipes).
Summer. One word with a big impact. In the summer, its a time to relax, not work and maybe go to the beach; as cliché as that sounds. In winter,we all huddled up in our hoodies, jumpers and boots, but in summer, that is the time to show yourself and unravel the thick layer of scarfs that surround you. SO I have compiled a list of some gorgeous summer dresses that you can slip on quickly, but still look absolutely fabulous in.
Love,
Kat x
